Travelling from Western to Eastern Malaysia, LeFF 2023 will tour across four different cities starting from Kuala Lumpur, to then take over Penang, Johor Bahru and lastly Kuching, for its premiere in Sarawak. This year’s festival is presented by L'Oréal Paris, and co-organised by the Alliances Françaises in Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur and Penang) and the Embassy of France in Malaysia along with their long-standing partners and collaborators, Golden Screen Cinemas and Martell. Gold sponsor Cartier is supporting the event for the second consecutive year.
As the festival presenter of the French Festival 2023, L’Oréal Paris continues their effort to reaffirm its long-standing commitment in supporting women in cinema, arts and culture while bringing its beauty expertise at the forefront of the festival. Movie-goers will have plenty to look out for with 15 French movies enriching GSC theatres’ line-up, from comedy and thriller to drama and romance among many other genres. One of the flagship movies is an adaptation of The Three Musketeers by Alexandre Dumas, a milestone in French literature and cloak-and-dagger novels. After a very successful kick-off in France, the Malaysian release will be the movie’s Asian premiere! For the young ones, Le Petit Festival – the children’s chapter of the festival launched in 2022 - will unfold at the Alliance Française de Kuala Lumpur and the Penang Public Library with exciting animated movies, storytelling sessions and concerts.
